ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Police have fatally shot an armed man in St. Paul while responding to an early-morning 911 call about shots fired at a home.

St. Paul police released a statement Sunday saying officers were dispatched to a multi-unit dwelling around 2:30 a.m. after a male 911 caller reported that someone had fired multiple shots inside a residence.

Police say responding officers encountered a man with a handgun, and two officers eventually discharged their weapons.

No details about the man or the officers were immediately released.

Both officers were wearing activated body cameras. The footage is being turned over to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Last week in neighboring Minneapolis, a local prosecutor said two officers were justified when they fatally shot a man who'd turned toward them with a loaded gun before he was shot.
