Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News)- Over 40 people were displaced by a fire in Mankato Friday afternoon.

The Mankato Department of Public Safety responded to the report of an apartment fire shortly before 1:30 p.m. The fire had broken out 1261 Pohl Road, which is across the street from a fire station.

The first crews to arrive found fire in an exterior wall and third-floor attic. Firefighters evacuated the entire building and put out the fire, officials say.

No injuries were reported. Officials say 42 people were displaced by the fire and are being offered temporary shelter. 

The damage caused by the fire is estimated to be $200,000. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
