
Minnesota Fugitive Captured After Taking Hostage
Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in southern Minnesota are reporting the capture of a fugitive who is accused of taking a hostage while trying to evade law enforcement.

That’s according to a news release issued by the Mankato Department of Public Safety on Monday morning.
The ordeal happened on Saturday and involved multiple burglaries and a domestic assault incident, authorities say.

Fugitive Captured After Alleged Domestic Assault, Burglaries & Hostage Taking in Mankato, MN
The news release identifies the now-captured fugitive as Mahad Ahmed Mohamoud. Officials said Mohamoud was wanted for felony-level burglary and domestic charges.
Law enforcement responded to a Mankato home around 11:00 Saturday night on the report of a domestic disturbance and learned Mohamoud, who was the suspect in the incident, had fled the scene.
Responding officers found Mohamoud but he fled the area. The news release says Mohamoud then burglarized two apartments in an attempt to hide from police.
Authorities then found him inside of an apartment where he allegedly had taken an occupant hostage. Law enforcement captured Mohamoud after making contact with him without further incident, the news release says.
Officials say the hostage was unharmed and that Mohamoud is expected to face additional charges.
