Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has received a jail sentence for sexual abuse of a young girl that allegedly began when they were both children and continued as he entered adulthood.

According to court documents, 24-year-old Joshua Brian Shoden was charged last August. The criminal complaint indicates that Rochester police opened an investigation earlier in the year based on the statements of an adult woman who had disclosed to a family member that she had been sexually assaulted.

The charges in the case say the victim told police investigators that Shoden began sexually assaulting her when she was five years old and the abuse continued until around her 17th birthday. Shoden was charged with three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and a felony count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
