
Minnesota Father Arrested for Death of His 16-Year-Old Son

Columbia Heights, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Minnesota father is in custody in connection with the death of his son.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest on Monday night.
First responders found the missing boy’s body in a landfill late last month. The teen was last seen alive on May 8.
Minnesota Authorities Arrest Father for Death of 16-Year-Old Manny Collins Jr.
A news release says law enforcement arrested 38-year-old Jordan Dupree Collins Sr. for the death of 16-year-old Jordan Dupree Collins, Jr., who is commonly known as Manny.
Collins Jr. was reported missing May 8 in Columbia Heights, which shares a border with northeast Minneapolis. Authorities conducted multiple searches, conducted several interviews and collected evidence during the lengthy search.
The two-month search came to a tragic end during the last weekend of June, when investigators located human remains in the Waste Management landfill in Elk River.

On July 1, law enforcement announced that human remains had been identified as 16-year-old Collins, Jr. Investigators made the identification after a series of tests.
The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office has been asked to determine Manny’s cause of death.
Early on in the search, authorities indicated they had a person of interest connected to the disappearance of Collins Jr. The identity of the person was not released during the search which involved local, state and federal authorities.
Collins Sr. has not yet been charged. Authorities say the death investigation remains ongoing.
