
Suspected Dodge County Vehicle Thief Busted with Meth in Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The discovery of drugs inside of a stolen vehicle has led to the filing of felony charges against a Rochester man.

That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court on Tuesday. Rochester police were dispatched to check on a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Dodge County around 1:15 on Tuesday morning.
Police found the stolen vehicle at an unspecified location in northwest Rochester, the complaint says.

Upon arrival officers saw a man, later identified as 33-year-old Shane Joseph Anderson, sitting in the vehicle’s driver seat with the door opened.
Police saw a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine fall to the ground as Anderson was exiting the vehicle, the charges say.

Officers placed the Rochester man under arrest. A search of the allegedly stolen vehicle led to the discovery of two additional bags containing suspected meth, the complaint says.
The charges say the meth found in the vehicle weighed 18.06 grams. Police also found a digital scale during the vehicle search.
Anderson is charged with receiving stolen property and third-degree drug possession. He was released without bail following his first court appearance Tuesday morning and is due back in court later this month.
