Rochester Man Gets 13 Years in Prison For Impregnating Young Girl
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for impregnating a 12-year-old girl.
20-year-old Troyonta Lee previously entered a guilty plea to a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge through a plea agreement that resulted in the dismissal of another first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge. His conviction stems from an investigation that began last June.
The criminal complaint says Rochester police took a report from the young girl's mother, who indicated her daughter was pregnant. The pregnancy was confirmed by medical professionals and was followed by a forensic interview with the 12-year-old.
The court document says she identified Lee as the father and told investigators he had been sexually assaulting her since she was in the first grade. The charges also stated that the girl told police the most recent sexual assault occurred last spring.
Lee's sentence is slightly above the recommended sentence under state guidelines. He was given credit for the 235 days he has already spent in jail but will be on supervised probation for 10 years after his release from prison.
