DWI Arrests Continue In Minnesota Despite Tougher Penalties
It’s 2025, and there are some things that you would figure would have sunk in, but apparently not when it comes to drinking while impaired. The Minnesota State Patrol reported on their “X” account, formerly Twitter, the number of people had been stopped recently for driving while impaired.

Over the last month a number of people were pulled over for driving while impaired or for suspicion of drinking and driving. Here is an example of the breakdown released by the Minnesota State Patrol:
One person was stopped for going 95 in a 60 mile per hour zone and was arrested for DWI
Another person was stopped in a 55 mile per hour zone with a blood alcohol content at .20
Another was was stopped in a 55 mile per hour zone where the underage driver was drinking with friends
The State of Minnesota has gotten stricter on the punishments for driving while impaired offenses since it seems that so many people are either ignoring the law all together or think they’ll never be stopped or worse be involved in an accident after they’ve been drinking.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety reports that 5,120 people were arrested last year for driving while impaired, and if you think that’s a high number, you’re right.
There are a lot more ways to get a ride home than there ever have been, so the next time you’re going to have a drink, remember those options so you and those around you will be safer.
