Minnesota Has Added Over 30,000 Jobs in 3 Months
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The latest statistics from the state show Minnesota has enjoyed strong job growth this summer.
The Department of Employment and Economic Development says the state’s economy produced a net gain of over 11,000 jobs last month and has added almost 32,000 over the past three months. The net gain for the past year is close to 60,000, which has pushed the 12-month job growth rate up to 2-percent, which is slightly above the national average.
The job gains helped drop Minnesota’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate to 3-percent. That’s down a tenth of a point from June and three-tenths of a point from July of last year. It also the lowest the rate has been since June 2000. State officials noted Minnesota’s unemployment rate has now been at or below 4-percent for four consecutive years.
