Burnsville, MN (KROC-AM News)- Two members of law enforcement suffered injuries in a standoff that occurred in Burnsville over the weekend.

A statement issued by the Burnsville Police Department says officers responded to a caller who reported hearing a gunshot in a nearby home on Saturday night. 

Responding officers made contact with the suspect at home in the area of Buck Hill Ski Area and negotiated with her for several hours before bringing her into custody on Sunday morning.

The woman’s name has not been released and the charges she was arrested on have not been disclosed. 

An initial statement issued to Twin Cities media indicated two officers had been injured. 

A follow-up statement clarified the injured law enforcement members were part of the Tri-City Tactical Team, which serves several communities in the southern Metro. 

Some stories have reported that BPD officers were injured, but it was individuals from our mutual aid partners who sustained minor injuries. We hope for their speedy recovery.

Reports indicate the injured tactical team members suffered minor injuries. The manner in which they were injured has not been released. No other injuries have been reported. 

This past weekend’s incident comes over one month after Burnsville Police Officers Paul Elmstrand, Matthew Ruge and Firefighter Paramedic Adam Finseth lost their lives during a standoff.

Last month, 35-year-old Ashley Dyrdale was federally indicted for providing the shooter, 38-year-old Shannon Gooden, with the firearm that used to kill the first responders. 

Gooden, who according to a BCA investigation took his own life during the standoff, was ineligible to possess firearms due to prior felony convictions, federal court documents say.
