Minnesota Man Accused Of Multiple Rochester-Area Sex Crimes
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Sexual abuse charges against a Minnesota man are mounting in Olmsted County.
The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office filed new sexual abuse charges Friday after a new victim came forward earlier this month. Local prosecutors now have three sexual abuse cases open against the Hutchinson man, who is awaiting trail in the two other local cases.
The most recent criminal complaint accuses 45-year-old Daniel Joseph Kenney of sexually abusing a girl from when she was under the age of 13 until a time when she was under the age of 16. Investigators allege the abuse took place multiple times in Olmsted County between November 2018 and August of 2021.
Court records indicate Kenney was charged with first and second-degree criminal sexual conduct in two different Olmsted County cases in September of 2021 and February of 2022 for the alleged sexual abuse of two victims who were also under the age of 13.
He’s also facing a felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct charge in southern Minnesota’s Mcleod County for the alleged sexual abuse of an 8-year-old girl. He was charged earlier this year for abuse alleged to have taken place last December.
The 2021 and 2022 Olmsted County cases are set to go to trial in May while a hearing is scheduled to take place in the Mcleod County case on April 28. Kenny was charged with two felony counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and two felony counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in the most recent Olmsted County sexual abuse case.
