Minnesota Man Arrested in Rochester Child Pornography Production, Dissemination Case
Update: Infant Girl, Teen Girl Listed as Victims of Rochester Sex Abuse & Child Porn Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester Police say an internet tip led to a child pornography arrest in Rochester.
Lt. Jennifer Hodgeman says police first received the tip, which was based on photos recovered from a social media account, in February.
The tip indicated the suspected perpetrator was possibly producing and disseminating child pornography.
Police, with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, launched an investigation after receiving the tip.
The investigation culminated with the execution of a search warrant at the suspect’s home in the 4000 block of Valley Dr. Northwest on Monday.
Hodgeman says the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Kevyn Heath of Rochester, admitted to his involvement in the activities described in the tip.
Hodgeman says Heath was arrested on suspicion of seven felony charges that range from criminal sexual conduct to possession of child pornography.
If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, resources are available for help. Visit the RAINN website (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) or dial 800-656-HOPE (800-656-4673).
Formal charges against Heath could be handed down in Olmsted County Court on Tuesday, Hodgeman said.
