(UPDATE) Victim of Fatal Highway 52 Crash Identified

Canton, MN (KROC-AM News) - Slippery travel conditions likely contributed to a deadly traffic crash in southeastern Minnesota this morning.
The State Patrol says 63-year-old Laurald Asfeth of Harmony died after his car collided with a pickup truck along Highway 52 in Fillmore County.

The preliminary crash report says Asfeth was in a car traveling east on the highway when it collided with the westbound pickup just before 9 AM. The driver of the pickup, 61-year-old Mark John Hanson of New Richland was not injured.
The fatal incident occurred about 2 miles east of Canton and about a mile west of the intersection where Highway 52 makes the turn to head south about a mile from the Iowa border.
