Minneapolis (KROC AM News) - A Minnesota man who admitted setting up a bogus income tax refund scam while confined to a state sex offender treatment facility has been sentenced to ten years in prison.

Federal prosecutors say 51-year-old Arthur Senty-Haugen admitted filing 92 fraudulent income tax returns for tax years 2011- 2016, seeking more than $550,000 in refunds. Prosecutors say Senty-Haugen began the scam just two days after completing a sentence for an earlier similar conviction.

Senty-Haugen carried out these scams while confined to the Minnesota Sex Offender Program in Moose Lake, where he was sent in 1994.
