Gopher 5 is a Minnesota-only lottery game, with tickets costing $1 each. The odds of winning the Gopher 5 jackpot are 1 in 1,533,939a and drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow until someone wins. The most recent jackpot grew to a record-setting amount but Minnesota Lottery officials say a winning ticket has been sold and the lucky person is the state's newest millionaire.

Minnesota Resident Wins Record-Breaking Lottery Jackpot

The largest the Gopher 5 jackpot had ever got was $2,032,201, set in November 2005. That lotto was won by 22 co-workers from the Watonwan County Highway Department/Public Works Department.

A lucky lottery player from Baxter has won $2,045,590 in the Gopher 5 drawing held on June 26. The winning ticket was sold at Orton’s Baxter Holiday, located at 5610 Fairview Road, and earned the store a $5,000 bonus.

The winning numbers for the June 26 drawing were 16, 29, 35, 43, and 46.

To claim the prize, the winner must go to the Minnesota Lottery headquarters in Roseville. It's recommended that winners call ahead to check the office hours and schedule an appointment. Since September 1, 2021, the names and cities of lottery prize winners above $10,000 are kept private unless the winner opts for publicity.
