Former SE Minnesota School Bus Driver Sentenced for Sex Abuse
Winona, MN (KROC-AM News) - A former school bus driver from Rushford has been sentenced to three months in jail for a sexual assault conviction.
Disabled Victim Reported Abuse Last Year
Fifty-four-year-old Timothy Thomas Wilkemeyer was charged last year after the Winona County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving a juvenile girl. Court documents say the report came from a young woman who told investigators that she had been sexually abused by Wilkemeyer between her junior and senior years of high school in 2017.
The criminal complaint states that the victim is disabled.
Sexual Contact on School Bus
According to the charges, the victim told investigators that Wilkemeyer had been her bus driver since she was 5 years old. She told law enforcement that Wilkemeyer exposed himself to her, and the two engaged in sexual conduct multiple times during the winter and spring of 2017 outside the victim’s home and on the school bus.
The criminal complaint indicates the sexual abuse occurred after the victim engaged Wilkemeyer in sexual conversations and requested that he expose himself.
Plea Agreement and Sentence
Wilkemeyer was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He entered into a plea agreement in March and admitted to an amended charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a person in a position of authority.

In addition to the 90-day jail sentence, Wilkemeyer has been placed on probation for five years. He was also given a stayed 18-month prison term that could be imposed if he violates the terms of his probation.
