Starbucks unveiled the Pumpkin Spice Latte in 2003, and the world has never been the same. Over the past two decades, the pumpkin spice craze has gotten out of hand with countless pumpkin-flavored products showing up in stores.

The team at Google Trends just released a report that shows which pumpkin spice food each state is searching for this year. Pumpkin Spice Oreos, Pumpkin Spice Cheerios, and Pumpkin Spice Goldfish are the most searched products in some states, but here in Minnesota, it's tacos. Pumpkin Spice Tacos!?

Google analyzed "uniquely searched" terms to find which pumpkin spice food each state was looking up the most. The Takeout explains, "The metric 'uniquely searched' means that a significantly higher number of Google searches for these terms were occurring in certain states compared to the rest, which explains why something like “pumpkin spice latte” isn’t on the map—everyone’s searching for that all the time."

In Minnesota, we're obsessed with Pumpkin Spice Tacos. Unfortunately, the Google data only shows the search term so I'm not sure what people are clicking on when the results come up. I did find two recipes that you might want to try right away though.

The first recipe I found is from Good Cook and looks really easy.

These Pumpkin Spice Tacos are made like traditional tacos--just brown ground beef on the stovetop--then a bit of pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice is added before serving. Sounds like a crazy combination? The pumpkin puree gives the beef an extra tenderness, kissed with a touch of autumn flavor. It’s a gentle way to elevate the taste of that same-old taco skillet without adding an overpowering amount of spice. Even picky eaters will love this one!

Pumpkin Spice Dessert Tacos!

If you have a sweet tooth you should check out McCormick's website for an easy-to-follow recipe for dessert tacos. You simply brush tortillas with butter and dust them with Pumpkin Spice seasoning and then use whipped cream or ice cream as a filling.
