Search Effort Launched for Minnesota Teen Who Went Missing While Swimming in Lake Michigan
Beverly Shores, IN (KROC-AM News)- A search effort is underway to find a Minnesota teenager who went missing while he was swimming in Lake Michigan.

That’s according to a news release issued by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. The teen boy was last seen swimming about 300 feet from the shore with a group on Tuesday.
He disappeared near the shoreline community of Michigan City in northwestern Indiana. First responders were dispatched to the report of swimmers in distress around 2:10 Tuesday afternoon.
Arriving emergency personnel found two swimmers and a good samaritan on the shore in need of medical attention in Beverly Shores, IN.
Search Effort Launched to Find Eagan Teen Who Went Missing While Swimming in Lake Michigan
First responders learned a third swimmer was unaccounted for. He’s being described as a 17-year-old boy from Eagan.
The news release says emergency personnel attempted to enter the lake but were turned back by large waves.
Officials say crews then launched a shore-based search effort that involved the deployment of drones, U.S. Coast Guard boats and watercraft belonging to local law enforcement.
As of Wednesday morning the boy has not yet been located. Officials say continuing search efforts will be contingent on water conditions.
A Beach Hazards Statement forecasting waves ranging in height from 6-9 feet was in effect at the time of the incident.
Authorities say the three people found on the shore were transported to a hospital and are in stable condition. The names of the missing teen swimmer and the three survivors of the water incident have not been released.
