Child Sex Abuse Sends Minnesota Man to Federal Prison
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Minnesota man was given a lengthy federal prison sentence for a child sex abuse conviction.
That’s according to a news release issued Tuesday by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota. The time behind bars will be followed by seven years of supervised release.
63-year-old Ronald Royce Pearson was sentenced Wednesday to 83 months in prison. The sentence follows Pearson entering a guilty plea to one count of sexual abuse of a minor last September.
Federal Court documents say the Red Lake man was accused of engaging in a sexual act with a minor while he was visiting the Red Lake Indian Reservation on August 27 of 2022.
The charges, conviction and sentence are the result of an investigation conducted by the FBI, the Red Lake Police Department, and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, resources are available for help. Visit the RAINN website (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) or dial 800-656-HOPE (800-656-4673).
