That’s nearly a point lower than the same month a year ago and the lowest it’s been since May 2001. Leisure and hospitality led all sectors last month with 6,100 job gains.

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) says employers have added nearly 51,000 jobs in the past year, including more than 35,000 jobs in the past four months.

Of the 5 metropolitan statistical areas in the state, Rochester had the fourth lowest growth rate over the past 12 months at just .8 percent.
