
LeRoy Motorcyclist Injured in Crash With Deer on Hwy. 56
Taopi, MN (KROC-AM News)- Mayo One helicopter was sent to the scene of a motorcycle-deer collision in southeast Minnesota Saturday night.

The motorcycle operator was the only person involved. The State Patrol and other first responders were called to the scene around 9:15 p.m.

41-Year-Old Motorcyclist Injured in Collision With Deer Near Taopi
The motorcycle-deer collision happened at the intersection of Hwy. 56 and 740th Ave., which is about 20 miles southeast of Austin.
The motorcycle was northbound. It came to a stop in the ditch after striking the animal, according to the state crash report.
Motorcyclist Taken to Rochester After Striking Deer
41-year-old Corey David Winkels of LeRoy was identified as the motorcycle operator. He was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
The State Patrol described his injuries as non-life-threatening.

Winkels was wearing a helmet and alcohol was not involved in the crash, the state crash report says.
The Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Rose Creek Fire and LeRoy Ambulance also responded to the motorcycle-deer collision.
