Victoria, MN (KROC-AM News) - Officials have not said how many people died, but the Carver County Sheriff's Office has confirmed there were multiple fatalities from a small plane crash in the town of Victoria.

A news release says the plane crash was reported about 5:45 PM in a residential neighborhood near the downtown area of the far southwestern Twin Cities suburb. The plane crashed into a home and burst into flames.

Carver County officials say the family living in the house was at the home, but they were not injured. The number of victims in the plane has not been released.

The single-engine plane took off from the municipal airport in Alexandria and was headed for Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie when the crash occurred. The Federal Aviation Administration and the NTSB are investigating.
