North Broadway Ave. To Close in Rochester, MN As Reconstruction Project Begins
Work on the second phase of the North Broadway Reconstruction project will begin on Monday, March 24. The project will begin with the closure of North Broadway from 13th St. to 16th St.
The closure is to accommodate reconstruction of the intersection of North Broadway and 14th St. Northeast.
Traffic on north Broadway will be detoured onto Elton Hills Dr., Northwest to West River Rd. then to 13th St. Northwest. The 14th St. detour takes traffic along 1st Ave. Northeast to 16th St. Northeast.
Officials anticipate the North Broadway closure to end by April 14 while the 14th St. intersection is scheduled to reopen on April 21.
Once North Broadway reopens, traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction during the work.
The project to transform the former Hwy. 63 corridor into a city street is scheduled to be completed by July of 2026.
