A criminal complaint filed in Dakota County court charges 25-year-old Marcus John Ottomo with fleeing police in connection with an incident that occurred on February 3. According to the court document, a Dakota County Sheriff's deputy on routine patrol observed the Eyota man driving a vehicle at 85 mph in a 55 mile-per-hour zone in Vermillion Township.
First PIT Maneuver Failed
The deputy reported attempting a traffic stop the squad car emergency lights activated and Otomo allegedly responded by speeding away. The criminal complaint says the resulting pursuit led to a parking lot at a business, where the deputy attempted to perform a PIT maneuver and end the chase.

Pinned Between Squad Cars
The court document indicates it failed and Otomo managed to elude the deputy by driving over a snow bank and out of the parking lot. Following his arraignment on the felony charge, Otomo's bail was set at $20,000.
