Olmsted Sheriff K9 Bite Results in $650,000 Settlement
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A dog bite inflicted by an Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office K9 Officer has resulted in a significant payment to the man wounded in the incident.
The Olmsted County Board voted today to approve the $650,000 payment to Michael Stiff and his legal team. Stiff was bitten by the law enforcement canine while the dog was pursuing another individual in June 2017. His claim was the subject of a mediation session last month that resulted in the settlement agreement.
The resolution approved by the County commissioners indicates the settlement includes a release of all claims and a denial of liability by Olmsted County.
