One Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Twin Cities Freeway (Update)
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News)- One person is dead following a car-motorcycle crash on a Twin Cities freeway Saturday night.
The deadly crash happened in Minneapolis in the area of I-94 and Franklin Ave. The State Patrol responded to the crash shortly after 10:30 p.m.
The state crash report indicates an eastbound motorcycle passed Franklin Ave. then collided with the back of a sedan. The collision caused both riders to be ejected from the motorcycle.
Authorities say one of the people involved was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was taken to a hospital with what are being described as life-threatening injuries.
The State Patrol released the names of the motorcycle riders Monday morning. The passenger, identified as 40-year-old Ann Elizabeth Warner of St. Paul, died at scene of the crash and the driver, identified as 53-year-old Jerry Lynn Phillips of St. Paul, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
No one on the motorcycle was wearing a helmet, the crash report says. The identity and condition of the car driver has not been released.
