Miltona, MN (KROC-AM News) - An investigator from the State Fire Marshal's Office has been called to a small town in central Minnesota to search for the cause of a deadly fire.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says it received two 911 calls just before 6 AM Sunday about a fire in a home in Miltona, about 10 miles north of Alexandria. Fire crews from several communities responded to the call and were told a person might be inside the burning house.

Officials say members of the Miltona Fire Department were able to get inside and locate the victim, who was unresponsive. Efforts to resuscitate the individual were unsuccessful, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the victim has not been released.
