Passed Out Driver Found At Rochester Intersection; Child With Him
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police arrested a suspected drunken driver after he was found passed out behind the wheel at an intersection with a young child in his car.
Officers were called to the intersection of 12th St and Marion Rd SE around 10:00 pm Saturday and saw other motorists banging on the window of the man’s car that was sitting in a turn lane. The man apparently came to and began driving slowly through the intersection until he stopped on a sidewalk.
The officers suspected the man was under the influence and arrested him after he failed a sobriety test. An open can of beer was found in the man’s car - as was his 5-year-old daughter. He told officers he had been at a birthday party.
The man blew a .11 at the Olmsted County jail and is expected to face a felony DWI charge.
The man was identified as 37-year-old Wyatt Jackson of Owatonna. Court records show he has been convicted of three DWI charges.
