Paws and Claws Humane Society helps tons and tons of dogs and cats in the Rochester, MN area who are looking for their forever homes. But sadly, one of the dogs in their care has gone missing.

Her name is Winnie. They believe she's an Australian Cattle Dog who is around 2 years and 6 months old.

On March 23rd, Winnie slipped out of her leash while on a walk and took off. Paws and Claws shared the news on their Facebook page and, as expected, tons of people went on the hunt for Winnie.

She originally had been spotted by Leashes and Leads but then there were no new sightings. Then, on March 26th, she was spotted by Gibbs Elementary School.

Since the 26th, we hadn't gotten any updates on Winnie, who is described as a shy dog, until April 8th when Paws and Claws had one request for people who want to help find her.

Help Paws and Claws' Missing Dog, Winnie

It sounds like many people have been out looking for Winnie, trying to coax her to a particular area with food, and doing their best to be helpful.

But actually, what Paws and Claws says is the most helpful thing that we can do right now is nothing.

At this time, we are asking everyone to please stop actively searching for her and not to put out food or approach her.

They thanked everyone for their help but said that they know where she is and that they have an experienced team who is working to catch her. The problem is, with so many people out and about trying to look for her, call for her, put food out for her, she gets scared and it may prolong the process.

However, if you happen to see her, they ask that you call 507-272-2062. Do not approach her, if you're driving don't even open your car door because that can spook her.

Also, something else we can do to help is share Winnie's story, especially the request to stop actively searching for her.

I really hope Winnie is caught soon so she can finally relax. I'm sure it's been a stressful few weeks for this poor little lady.
