Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)  A young Pine Island boy was taken to St. Mary’s Tuesday after being bitten while trying to break up a dog fight.

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Department was contacted at 11:15 a.m. and a spokeswoman says deputies arrived to find 10 year old Michael Goodman suffering from bite wounds to his legs.  He was not listed as a patient at St. Mary's Wednesday morning. His 18 year old sister Mikayla  - identified as the owner of the dogs - was also bitten in the hands when she tried to separate the two pit bulls.

The dogs were still fighting when firefighters arrived and they began spraying water on them. When that didn’t work, a deputy fired a taser at the dog that appeared to be the aggressor and it died. The other dog suffered serious injuries.
