Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Byron man with a penchant for being pursued in stolen vehicles has cut a deal with Olmsted County prosecutors to settle the charges against him in one of his criminal cases.

Court records show 35-year-old James Minter has pleaded guilty to four felony charges, including first-degree burglary, through an agreement that led to the dismissal of four other felonies and several misdemeanor offenses. The charges were filed against Minter after he led an Olmsted County Sheriff’s Deputy on a chase in a stolen vehicle for several miles in rural eastern Olmsted County in late January.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 2nd, when he is also scheduled to appear at a hearing concerning several other criminal cases, including an incident at a residence in Pleasant Grove Township that was followed by another police chase about a week before the pursuit covered by Minter’s plea agreement. He also still faces charges for alleged vehicle thefts that occurred in March of last year and in 2015.
