Plea Deal Leads to Probation in Rochester Home Invasion Case
Rochester, Mn (KROC-AM News) - One of the men involved in a violent home invasion in Rochester earlier this year has been sentenced to two years on probation. 19-year-old Elliot Norwood earlier worked out a plea agreement that allowed him to admit to a gross misdemeanor riot charge and led to the dismissal of two felony burglary charges.
Norwood was accused of being one of the men who barged into an apartment near the Rochester Community and Technical College campus in late March and threatening the occupants with guns. Rochester police say at least two of the people in the apartment were assaulted by the intruders before they fled.
The cases against three other teenagers charged in the case are still pending. One of them, 19-year-old Donte Wilkins, is currently serving a nearly 5-year prison sentence for a manslaughter conviction stemming from the drug overdose death of a Dodge Center man last December.
