Police, BCA Investigating Suspicious Death in Southern Minnesota
Faribault, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in southern Minnesota say a recent death appears to be suspicious.
Little information has been released as of Tuesday morning, however a news release issued by the Faribault Police Department announced the suspicious death investigation Monday evening.
The news release says officers responded to a residence in the 20 block of Mitchell Dr. for a welfare check around 2:15 Monday afternoon. Arriving officers located a deceased male inside of the home.
Police describe the circumstances surrounding the male’s death as suspicious and say investigators are treating the residence as a crime scene.
The Minnesota BCA responded to the home to assist Faribault Police Detectives with the death investigation. Authorities are working to determine what happened inside of the home.
Police did not release the male’s name. The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office has been tasked with conducting an autopsy and will release the male’s identity along with his cause and manner of death at a later time.
The Faribault Police Department plans to release more information regarding the suspicious death on Tuesday afternoon.
