Police Investigating Two South Rochester Businesses Burglaries
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Police Department is investigating burglaries reported at two Rochester businesses this week.
Police Captain Casey Moilanen said officers responded to the first burglary report around 7:15 a.m. Monday at Kreofsky Building supplies in the 3700 block of Enterprise Dr. Southwest. Employees who reported for work Monday morning noticed the office had been ransacked.
Officers learned two laptops, 27 liquified gas fuel cells and a cash box were reported stolen. Moilanen said there were no signs of forced entry and it’s unclear how the suspect got inside the business. It’s also unknown how the suspect got to the business.
The second business burglary was reported around 11:36 p.m. Monday. Moilanen said a resident near Kilian’s Express Lube in the 1900 block of South Broadway reported seeing a subject break a glass window and enter the business.
Responding officers found the suspect had thrown an object through the south-facing glass door to gain access. The business owner reported a small amount of money was taken from the register and estimated damage to the shattered glass door as high as $7,500.
The suspect, described as being dressed in black clothing that covered their features, fled the store on foot. Moilanen says so far no arrests have been made.
