Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News) - The sentencing hearing for a Red Wing man who recently admitted to a fatal shooting was held today on his 21st birthday.
Michael Reyes was given a 15-year prison sentence for shooting and killing 28-year-old D'andre Hicks on June 25, 2019. Reyes was arrested later the same day at a motel in Woodbury and the Goodhue County Grand Jury indicted him last November on a dozen felony charges including first-degree murder.
His prison sentence, which includes credit for the over 500 days Reyes has already spent in jail, stems from a plea agreement reached last month that resulted in a guilty plea to a second-degree murder charge.
