UPDATE: Rochester Police Confirm Shooting
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester Police Dept. has confirmed earlier reports of an early Saturday shooting.
KROC AM News reported unconfirmed reports Saturday and RPD later released this news release:
Rochester Police Department is investigating a shooting outside Motel 6 at 2107 West Frontage Road. Officers responded to a report of shots fired at 2:12 a.m. today. Preliminary investigations indicate multiple subjects may have been responsible for the shooting. It appears that one of the motel rooms was the target. A woman inside a motel room was shot in the upper back and transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys with non-life-threatening injuries. No other subjects were reported to have been shot. RPD’s Investigations Unit is utilizing all resources to locate the shooters. We believe this is an isolated incident.

There has not been an official report from the Rochester Police Dept. but it appears there was a shooting in the city early Saturday.
Scanner and social media reports indicate it occurred sometime between 2:00 and 2:30 am in the area of Motel Six and 18 ½ Ave NW.
Reports indicated officers were searching for suspects in the area and were also checking a parking lot for evidence. Photographs clearly show a heavy police presence and crime scene tape.
Reports also indicate one person was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Inquiries to RPD about the reports had not been answered as of noon Saturday.
