
Retired Rochester Teacher Died While Volunteering at School

Rochester, Mn (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester School District says a former teacher passed away today while volunteering at Washington Elementary School.
A statement issued by the school district this afternoon says emergency personnel were sent to the school this afternoon in response to a medical emergency involving a school volunteer.
"We are saddened to share that longtime friend of Washington Elementary, Mary Ellen Trueman, died shortly after arriving at the main office at Washington."
The statement says Trueman began volunteering to help primary grade students at Washington Elementary after a career as an elementary school teacher.
"She was always ready with a joke of the day for the staff each day she volunteered. She had a true passion for teaching and for students. We share our deepest condolences to Mary Ellen's friends and family."
