Charges Filed Against Rochester Man Accused of Brandishing Gun on Hwy. 14

62-year-old Douglas Jason Boatright is charged with second-degree assault and terroristic threats.

The victim told police he was driving westbound near Cub Foods in southeast Rochester when he passed what he described as a slow-moving vehicle that had pulled out in front of him.

The man said he saw the motorist dig into his waistband and produce a silver revolver pistol, the complaint says.

The victim, who had a 17-month old child riding with him, told police the motorist pointed the gun at him for 5-10 seconds.

The driver then lowered the gun and held up his middle finger at the victim, the charges say.

Police got a description and license plate number of the suspect vehicle and connected the alleged threat to Boatright.

He initially told officers he held up a can of bear spray after a motorist cut him off, the court document says.

Guns Discovered During Search Warrant

Officers executed a search warrant at Boatright’s home and located a silver Colt King Cobra and its holster, another revolver and a can of bear spray, the charges say.

Boatright was released without bail following his first court appearance on Friday. He’s due back in court next month.
