
Rochester Announces Opening Dates for Beaches, Pool & Splashpad
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Summer has arrived in the City of Rochester.

Officials announced the opening days for public aquatic facilities on Thursday. The aquatic season typically runs Memorial Day through Labor Day, however there are some changes this year due to construction.
Rochester Parks and Recreation Department says Silver Lake Pool, at 840 7th Street Northeast, is set to open on Saturday, June 3 and will be the only city-owned and operated pool opened this year. The Soldier's Field Pool is closed due to a $6.8 million renovation project that’s scheduled to be completed by next summer.
Daily admission to the pool is $6 for adults, $5 for youth ages 2-17 and free for children under the age of 2. The city is also offering 10 youth/adult tickets for $40 and season passes for families for $200 and individual season passes for $50.
The season passes can be purchased through the Rochester Swim Club’s Website. The Silver Lake Pool’s hours are from noon until 8 p.m. seven days per week though Augusty 20 and lifeguards will be on duty during open swim hours.
Officials also announced Thursday the Foster-Arend Beach, at 4051 River Road Northeast, and Cascade Lake Beach, at 88 23rd Avenue SW, will open to the public on Saturday, May 27. Those beaches have free admission, however no life guards will be on duty.
City officials say the Lincolnshire Splash Pad, at 5276 Members Pkwy Northwest, will open after Memorial Day, however they did not give a set opening date.
