Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester area law officers helped spread some holiday cheer Saturday.
The local Shop With A Cop event was held at the north Walmart store and officers from the Rochester Police Dept., Olmsted County deputies, and other nearby agencies took part.
A total of 55 officers were involved in the 18th annual event. RPD says officers paired up with kids for an afternoon of holiday shopping. Each child received a $110 gift card to purchase presents for their families. They were also treated to lunch and gift wrapping.
RPD says “This holiday giving tradition not only brightens the holidays for families in need, but also helps police build positive relationships with kids. Win-win.”
