Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The catalytic converter crooks have struck again in Rochester - bigtime.

The operator of the U-Haul Moving & Storage site near the Barlow Hy-Vee store took a significant loss over the weekend.

The business discovered catalytic converters had been stolen from three of its trucks last Wednesday. They were replaced but then the thieves struck again Saturday, stealing the devices from more than a dozen trucks. The total loss was 27 converters. No loss estimate was given.

The owner of a Toyota Prius also reported a converter theft Monday.

Rochester Police Capt. Casey Moilanen says the thefts began in late September, mostly involving Honda and Toyota vehicles.
