Dilworth, MN (KROC-AM News) - It’s unclear if there is a connection between the seizure of a large amount of marijuana in northwestern Minnesota and a similar discovery in Rochester a few weeks ago.

KFGO radio in Fargo is reporting that 217 pounds of pot was found in some brand new vehicles that had been delivered to a rail yard in Dilworth by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train. The police chief in the community on the east side of Fargo-Moorhead, told the radio station the drugs were discovered in the spare wheel wells of the vehicles during a routine inspection.

In the Rochester case, police received information that a large stash of marijuana might be hidden in a new Ford Fusion that had been delivered to a local dealership. The car had already been purchased by an 87-year-old Rochester man, who agreed to a police request to bring it in to be searched, which led to the discovery of 50 pounds of marijuana stashed in the spare wheel well.

Rochester Police indicated the car had been shipped from a Mexican factory to Minnesota by train.
