Rochester Construction Workers Stay Busy
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - It may have been cold in January but Rochester construction workers were pretty busy.
The city approved 25 permits for new single family homes during the month - the highest number for the month of January since 2008.
Also approved was a large apartment project that will include 192 units. It’s called The Pines at Badger Hills and is being built along Badger Hills Dr. NW, a few blocks east of the 50th Ave water tower. The building permit for the project was valued at $19.2 million.
The developer expects the project to be completed next year, adding dozens of additional apartments to the city’s booming multi-family market. The city set a record last year when it approved 33 building permits for new multi-family projects containing 1,156 units.
Mayo Clinic took out two large permits for its ongoing work at St. Mary’s Hospital last month. They were valued at nearly $17 million.
