Rochester Dope Dealer Sent to Prison
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man who made quite a scene at the St Marys Hospital ER last year has been sent to prison.
Sentenced this week to 98 months for a drug conviction was 37-year-old Michael Common.
He was caught driving without a license and when he began complaining of stomach pain, he was taken to St Marys because of his history of drug use. The officer was still there when Common began struggling with the ER staff. He saw Common trying to put something in his mouth and noticed it was a plastic bag with a white powder inside. When the two began struggling, the bag ripped open and some of the powder became airborne.
The officer and ER workers were not affected by the airborne drugs.
It was determined the bag contained 47 grams of methamphetamine, 20 grams of cocaine and 4 grams of crack.
The ER staff told the officer Common had removed the bag from his rectum shortly after he arrived and that’s when the struggle began.
