Rochester Felon Accused of Attacking & Injuring Woman With Bottle
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A convicted felon from Rochester is facing a felony assault charge after being accused of attacking a woman with a bottle.
The criminal complaint, filed in Olmsted County Court Tuesday, says Rochester Police responded to a disturbance at a residence around 12:30 a.m. on September 2. Upon arrival, officers encountered a woman screaming and crying in the parking lot.
The charges say the woman was bleeding profusely from a wound above her right eye and that she also had a wound on her forehead. While speaking with officers, the woman was also on a phone call in which she said a man, identified as 40-year-old Christopher Paul Hilton, attacked her.
A witness at the scene told officers the woman told him that Hilton threw a bottle of Patron at her head. She later identified her attacker as Hilton after officers showed her a photo of him, court documents say.
The complaint says Hilton and the victim know each other. Officers found Hilton and said he stopped to talk after being warned of being charged for obstructing the legal process.
The charges say officers detained him for the assault but did not mention a female victim and he replied “"About what? You really think I assaulted her?"
Hilton was charged Tuesday with third-degree assault and gross misdemeanor domestic assault. Court records indicate he was convicted of felony domestic assault in Olmsted County in 2015.
He was released without bail but with conditions. Hilton is due back in court on September 19.
