The new case alleges Obang was involved in a fight in the parking lot of an unnamed Rochester public high school on the night of April 28.
The charges say cell phone video of the altercation shows a juvenile engaged in a fight with an unnamed suspect. Another suspect is then seen producing a handgun, loading it and asking the group assembled to watch the fight “what’s up?”
Obang is seen striking the victim in the head after the juvenile disengaged from the other two suspects, the complaint says. Obang and the three other suspects are then seen leaving the scene.
The new case charges Obang with gross misdemeanor third-degree riot and fifth-degree assault. He was released without bail following his first court appearance Tuesday and is due back in court in October.
