According to a news release from the Rochester Fire Department, crews first arrived at Truckin America just before 9:30 am and saw significant smoke inside the building, with light smoke also coming from the roof. Truckin America was open and operating, and it was said that all employees and customers evacuated safely.

The Rochester Fire Department reports that flames were located in an office on the north side of the building. The door to the office had to be forced open by firefighters. Once inside, the fire was extinguished.

Crews said that the fire was limited to the contents of the room and did not make it into the structure itself. Reports said that there was fire and water damage in one room, some smoke damage throughout.

The Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause.

The fire department noted that the spread of the fire was constrained by the fact that both doors to the office were closed. Officials said if you should encounter a fire in a structure, closing doors behind you as you evacuate can help stop the spread of the fire.
