Gun Threat at Rochester Apartments Leads to Guilty Plea
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man accused of chasing Rochester women while brandishing a gun has pleaded guilty to a felony charge.
Twenty-eight-year-old Ahmed Mohamed Mumin was arrested in early June after Rochester police responded to a northwest Rochester apartment complex following a report that a man had pointed a gun at two women. The criminal complaint says the victims told officers they were leaving the Villages at Essex Park Apartments after visiting a family member when the incident occurred.
Women Reported Gun Threat Outside Rochester Apartments
Mumin was accused of pointing a gun at their vehicle as they were driving onto 41st Street Northwest and then running after them as they drove away. He was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, fifth-degree drug possession, and possession of a firearm by an ineligible person.

When officers arrived at the scene, they reported finding Mumin with another man. The criminal complaint says the two tried to walk away and refused commands to stop before additional officers arrived and apprehended Mumin.
The court document says two oxycodone pills and fragments of a suspected oxycodone pill were found in Mumin's satchel. He was also accused of possessing a scale with residue that tested positive for cocaine.
Plea Agreement Dismisses Assault and Drug Charges
Under the terms of his plea agreement, Mumin admitted to a charge of illegal possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a crime of violence in exchange for the dismissal of the felony assault charges and the drug possession count.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in January.
