Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester area experienced heavy rain during a short period Thursday morning with 1 -2 inches which led to minor flooding problems.

And there may be more on the way. 

Rainfall in downtown Rochester was close to 1.5 inches as of noon with nearly an inch falling in just one hour.

This is the most significant rain the area has received since June 29th and is about the same as the total from the past three weeks.

The National Weather Service says there is a threat of more heavy rain through 5:00 PM Thursday.
