Rochester Man Accused Of Ripping Off Nebraska Victim
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A motorist caught speeding in Rochester last week ended up being charged with stealing a significant amount of money from a Nebraska man.
A state trooper clocked a pickup truck driving 88 mph on Highway 52 near 55th St Tuesday evening.
After spotting evidence of illegal drugs, the trooper searched the truck and found some cocaine and a loaded handgun.
The trooper also searched a female passenger’s purse and a small bag and found $13,000 in cash. Also found in the truck were blank checks and a Medicare card that belonged to the 61-year-old Nebraska man.
It was determined the man’s bank account had been wiped out. The total loss was at least $40,000.
Arrested was 25-year-old Robert Owen, who is described as homeless.
